Ninety candidates receive overdue notices for missing reporting deadline

The Public Disclosure Commission has sent overdue notices to 90 candidates who appear to have missed the July 16 deadline for mandatory 21-day pre-primary election spending reports.

State law requires candidates who are participating in the primary election and registered as full reporters (required for those who raise and spend more than $7,000) to file expenditure (C-4) reports 21 and 7 days prior to primary and general election days. Reports are also due on the tenth day of the month following the election.

The 21-day expenditure report due on July 16 covers campaign spending during the period between June 1 and July 15. The PDC maintains a list of filing deadlines and other reporting resources on its website.

The following candidates received notices of possible non-compliance for not filing their 21-day pre-primary expenditure reports by the deadline. Some of the candidates listed have filed their reports since receiving the PDC's notice.

Campaigns that fail to file mandatory reports may be subject to enforcement action. Improving compliance with mandatory expenditure reporting deadlines is one of the Commission’s strategic goals.
