On Jan. 1, the Public Disclosure Commission’s statutory citations switched from RCW 42.17A to Title 29B RCW.
PDC staff are currently working to update all RCW references and links on pdc.wa.gov. In the meantime, check out our new interactive tool to cross-reference the old and new citations, and to look up citations by topic.
This change does not affect the substance of the law, only its organization within the Revised Code of Washington.

In 2024, the Washington state Legislature approved SB 5857, which set the recodification in motion.
The Legislature set the effective date as Jan. 1, 2026.
