The Public Disclosure Commission (PDC) received five complaints filed by Glen Morgan against the Thurston County Democratic Central Committee (TCDCC), alleging violations of RCW 42.17A and WAC 390: (1) PDC Case #11660: TCDCC #1 filed on January 5, 2017; (2) PDC Case #13677: TCDCC #2 filed on February 12, 2017; (3) PDC Case:#15417: TCDCC #3 filed on March 15, 2017; (4) PDC Case #18608: TCDCC #4 filed on May 17, 2017; and (5) PDC Case #24436: TCDCC #5 filed on August 11, 2017.
The five complaints were also filed with the Attorney General's Office (AGO) as Citizen Action Notice (CAN) against the TCDCC and contained similar or identical allegations of violations of RCW 42.17A and WAC 390. On August 20, 2018, TCDCC sent a letter to the PDC, notifying staff that the TCDCC had recently settled a lawsuit filed against them by the AGO in which they acknowledged violations of RCW 42.17A and WAC 390, and paid a civil penalty, that included reimbursing for the court and investigative costs, and attorney fees.
The TCDCC acknowledged violations of RCW 42.17A and WAC 390, and paid a civil penalty to resolve the allegations listed in your complaints. Based on this information, the PDC has dismissed the five complaints filed against the Thurston County Democratic Central Committee in accordance with RCW 42.17A.755(1).
