Lake Stevens Concerned Citizens Committee: Alleged violations RCW 42.17A.235, & .240 for failure to timely & accurately disclose expenditures & contributions on reports. (EY22, MAY24)
The complaints alleged violations of RCW 42.17A.235 and .240 for failure to timely and accurately disclose contributions and expenditures on reports for election years 2022 and 2024.
It appears that the Committee inadvertently filed as both an election year and continuing committee, but after working with PDC staff, Committee officers were able to correct the registrations and reporting for the elections the committee participated in during 2022, 2024 and 2025.
Based on our findings, staff has determined that, in this instance, any violation that may have occurred was minor and has been cured. Pursuant to WAC 390-37-060(1)(d), however, you are receiving a formal written warning concerning the failure to timely disclosure of all contributions. The formal written warning will include staff’s expectation the Committee timely files all future required reports of contributions and expenditures. The Commission will consider the formal written warning in deciding on further Commission action if there are future violations of PDC laws or rules.
Any allegations regarding reporting by the Committee for calendar years 2022-2024 and the February 2025 election that are not otherwise addressed are also hereby dismissed.
Based on this information, the PDC has dismissed this matter in accordance with RCW 42.17A.755(1).
