Complainant

Description

  • Allegation One: Alleged violation of RCW 42.17A.405 by a local candidate accepting contributions for the 2022 General election from candidates for federal office
  • Allegation Two: Alleged violation of RCW 42.17A.405 by candidates for federal office making contributions to a local candidate for the 2022 General election

Based on the specific facts in this matter, the contributing federal candidate campaigns have no filing obligation with the PDC as either in-state political committees or as out-of-state political committees required to file C-5 reports.

Based on our findings, staff has determined that, in this instance, the making of contributions by federal candidates to a local candidate campaign, and the latter’s acceptance of said contribution, does not amount to a violation that warrants further investigation.

Based on this information, the PDC finds that no further action is warranted and has dismissed this matter in accordance with RCW 42.17A.755(1).
