Description

  • Alleged violation of RCW 42.17A.445 by using 2024 Public Lands Commissioner funds for 2024 Governor campaign expenses;  
  • Alleged violations of RCW 42.17A.235 and .240 by not reporting political advertising expenses for Governor campaign.
  • The PDC dismissed this matter in accordance with RCW 42.17A.755(1) and will not be conducting a more formal investigation into these allegations or taking further enforcement action in this matter.
  • However, pursuant to WAC 390-37-060(1)(d), PDC staff issued a formal warning concerning Hilary Franz’s failure to timely report expenditures, including debts and orders placed for work performed to benefit her 2024 campaign for Governor. Staff expects the 2024 Hilary Franz campaign for Governor to timely file all future reports detailing campaign expenditures, including estimating orders placed if an invoice has not yet been issued by the vendor. The Commission will consider the formal written warning in deciding on further Commission action if there are future violations of PDC laws or rules.
