Description

Michael Cannon, a 2023 candidate seeking re-election to the office of School Director for the Mead School District, allegedly violated RCW 42.17.235 by failing to timely file the 7‐Day Pre‐ General Election Summary Full Campaign Contribution and Expenditure Report (C‐4 Report), as required for a 2023 candidate under the Full Reporting Option and appearing on the November 7, 2023 general election ballot.

A Brief Adjudicative Proceeding (BAP, Brief Enforcement Hearing) was conducted for this matter on May 2, 2024. 

At the May 2, 2024, Brief Enforcement hearing, the Presiding Officer found Michael Cannon violated RCW 42.17.235 on one occasion by failing to timely file the 7‐Day Pre‐ General Election Summary Full Campaign Contribution and Expenditure Report (C‐4 Report), as required for a 2023 candidate under the Full Reporting Option and appearing on the November 7, 2023 general election ballot.  

The Presiding Officer assessed a total civil penalty of $150, of which $25 was suspended on the condition that no future violations are committed for four years from the date of the Order, in accordance with WAC 390-37-143.
